Overall purpose of role:
The Cross Border Marketing Manager (CBM) is responsible for achieving the Australian PayPal business cross border revenue targets by driving Australian (AU) consumers to shop overseas and AU merchants to ship overseas, leveraging the unique opportunities that exist for PayPal Australia operating within a global payments network and key player within the APAC region.
Core responsibilities:
1. Strategy & Planning
· Define and drive PayPal Australia’s Cross border strategy for both AU consumers and merchants.
2. Activity & Advocacy
· Successfully executing the go to market Cross Border plans to ensure business revenue targets are achieved.
· Increase cross border activity of PayPal AU customers & Merchants executing campaigns that drive order value & frequency of transactions.
· Ensure excellent end to end customer experience is delivered at all times, implement and drive churn reduction programmes across merchant & consumer segments (Top buyer & seller focus). Measure and deliver action plans driving Customer NPS score.
3. Reporting, Research & Analysis
· Develop & publish weekly & monthly Cross Border scorecard, measure against defined business targets. Ensure regular ROI reporting. Work closely with the Analysts to ensure focus is on high-impact projects.
· Conduct market analysis and research to assess consumer & merchant requirements, competitive offerings and overall technology trends to hone marketing strategy and CS requirements
4. Budget Management
· Define required budget to achieve annual business targets (Promotions, Media, Creative agency, PR, Research) ensure campaigns are ROI positive and prioritized for greatest returns. Spend wisely and within agreed budget parameters.
5. Advertising & Agency Management
· Develop KPIs for the Cross Border communications plan. Provide content and direction to media agency and external creative teams ensuring all work is delivered on Brand, efficiently and brilliantly executed and within budget.
6. Relationship Management
· Build strong relationships with key cross border merchants, internal PayPal Merchant services team and key PayPal Marketing & MS people globally (APAC, EU, SJ) to ensure Cross Border opportunities are identified and maximized.
Person Specification & Skills
Experience required:
· Minimum 8 years of consumer and B2B marketing.
· Industry sector experience across financial services, e-commerce, online products and import export marketing a significant plus.
· Proven experience of creating strategic plans and executing tactical campaigns.
· Demonstrated ability to efficiently gather information from many sources (Customer Service dashboards, Qualitative and Quantitative Research, Site analytics) and organize it into insights for effective Marketing plans
· Proven experience in managing day-to-day relationships with internal and external partners, working across multi0ple time zones and cultures/languages
Skills:
· Communication skills – excellent verbal and negotiating, strong listening and written communication skills. Strong presentation skills both to small and larger groups. Communications experience across APAC region and languages relevant to APAC region a plus.
· Strong project management skills with experience of work prioritization, planning, influencing and working in cross functional teams
· Marketing skills - strong DM skill set preferably ADMA qualified. Agency management and media planning experience plus understanding of how to leverage PR .
Qualifications:
· Excellent academic background, Marketing degree qualified and preferably Adma qualified.

· Experience of working across multi-disciplinary teams, time zones and languages.
